Hey everyone! I'm trying to improve our water filtration at home and help us kick the bottled water habit. My wife is suggesting we go for a reverse osmosis (RO) system, but I'm wondering if we truly need it or if there are better options out there. Should we consider under-sink vs. countertop models? Also, I've heard that RO systems can waste a lot of water—is that true? Would a multi-stage filtration system be a more practical choice? I'd prefer to stick to a budget of around $500, since the pricier options are off the table for us. Any advice or experiences from fellow hydro enthusiasts would be greatly appreciated! P.S. I have a water quality report available for reference if needed.

We decided on an affordable under-sink RO system with two pre-sediment filters, the RO filter itself, and a charcoal filter. Surprisingly, we haven’t seen a big spike in our water bill, and we actually drink a good few gallons a day from it!

What model did you choose, and is it noisy during use?
