I recently picked up a table from Facebook Marketplace to use as a desk for my girlfriend. Unfortunately, we didn't notice a damage on the corner until it was already loaded onto the truck. Is there any way to repair this, or am I just stuck with sanding it down? I'm not sure what caused the damage or what the best approach would be.

Honestly, there's not much you can do to fix it properly. Sanding might help shape it slightly better, but unless you have the right tools and skills, it can end up looking worse. Just keep it in mind that sometimes these things are just tough to bring back to life.
It seems like your table is made of either MDF or particle board. Unfortunately, there aren't any great solutions for fixing that kind of material. You can sand it down, but the finish will likely never look as good as it did originally. The faux wood finish on these tables is tough to replicate without a lot of skill and effort, so I'd recommend managing expectations for the final look.
