Hey everyone! I've been caring for a generic Echeveria hybrid for two years, and it was doing great until last week when I noticed a lot of leaves dropping. Upon inspection, I found that the upper stem was dry-rotting, while the lower part and roots are fine. I hadn't watered it in a month, and the soil is gritty and drains well. It's in the same spot with the same grow lights as always, so I'm puzzled about what could've caused this issue. Any ideas on what might have gone wrong, or how to prevent this from happening again? Thanks!

Did you change your watering schedule right before this happened? Also, consider if there were any changes in temperature or light conditions. Sometimes these things can throw off our plants for no apparent reason. I've been in the same boat where everything seems fine, and then suddenly there’s an issue! Wishing you a speedy recovery for your Echeveria!
Plants can sometimes just rot out of the blue! It happened to my Echeveria Dionysos too; one leaf started rotting in the middle of the stem, and I had to chop it and try to propagate. It's been a bit of a struggle ever since, but I did manage to get a couple of healthy cuttings after a few months. Just keep an eye on it and don't lose hope!
