I'm looking to help raise funds for a local Cat Cafe by selling some of my plant clippings and baby hens and chicks at our town's weekly farmers market. I'm considering a flat price of $5 each for the baby hens and chicks, but I'm wondering if I should vary the price based on size. I have about 40 small baby hens and chicks, and I'm also planning to sell some elephant bush clippings. Would $5 be a good price, or should I charge differently for the various sizes? I'm hoping to raise at least $300 for the cafe, which helps local cats get adopted. Any advice would be appreciated!

If you’re not local to California, shipping can be tricky. If you do decide to ship elephant bush clippings, it’s best to check with someone who ships plants regularly. It’d be good to know the costs before you offer that option.
Most folks will be happy to pay around $5 for a plant when they know it’s going to help a good cause like a cat cafe. It sounds like a fantastic initiative! Just make sure to highlight that the proceeds are for the cats, and that should motivate buyers even more. A lot of people are sympathetic to such causes!
Thanks for the tip! Yes, we'll definitely be promoting that it's to help a local rescue. I'm thinking of maybe offering a free plant for anyone who donates $5 or more, too!
You might want to consider pricing smaller baby hens and chicks at around $3 each and the larger ones at about $10. This gives your buyers options depending on how much they want to spend. People usually appreciate a range of prices!
Great suggestion! I'll definitely think about that pricing strategy.

I'm based in North Carolina, and I’ll ask my friend who sells plants about shipping costs. Thanks for the advice!
