Hey folks! I recently got the M18 Power Head with the Pole Saw and Edger attachment, and I've hit a serious snag. While trimming a small oak tree, I noticed some alarming issues. After cutting a few small branches (about half an inch thick), the pole saw suddenly started leaking bar oil everywhere — it emptied the entire oil tank in just a few moments. Then, I saw smoke and smelled something burning, mostly coming from the chain area of the saw. I quickly detached the pole saw, cleaned everything out, and tried to get the power head to work again, but it wouldn't turn on. I also connected the edger attachment, but that didn't work either. I tested several fully charged batteries to rule that out. The odd part is that the unit only powers on when I press the speed control button and switch it to medium. Has anyone dealt with this issue before?

Weird situation! After I let mine sit for about 20 minutes, it powered on normally at any speed. Maybe the pole saw overheated the power head? Still doesn’t explain the oil leak and smoke, though. Definitely odd!
That's strange! I haven’t had problems with my Quick-Lok tools, but just out of curiosity, are you using the first gen (2825-20) or the second gen (3016-20) power head? After cleaning, does the pole saw chain move smoothly?
I mean, I do smoke while using my Milwaukee tools, but I don’t think that’s the advice you’re looking for. You might want to reach out for support. This sounds unusual!

It's the second gen. The pole saw operates the same when it turns on, but it only seems to fire up at medium speed, same with the edger.
