Help! Did I Poison My Garden?

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a mess here. This is my second year gardening on my patio, and I was trying to tackle some plant pests. I used Bonide Systemic Granules, which I was told is good for houseplants, but I didn't check if it's safe for outdoor use or for edible plants. I've come to terms with the fact that my vegetable plants are likely ruined, but I'm worried about whether I should just pull up all my plants. Someone mentioned that my flowers might also be harmful to beneficial insects, and I have lots of praying mantis and bees visiting. I'd love to get more opinions before making a decision. This whole situation is heartbreaking. Lesson learned the hard way. Thanks in advance!

The package should indicate which insects are affected. If you’re unsure, it might be a good idea to call the manufacturer directly for clarification.

I’m really sorry to hear that! It’s probably best to pull them up. The chemicals can harm all sorts of insects, not just the pests you were after. Better to be safe than sorry and protect those beneficial critters!

Ugh, this is what I feared too! It’s such a bummer right when everything’s blooming! I’ll get started on that.

Yeah, Bonide Systemic Granules contain acephate, which can be quite harmful to pollinators. If any beneficial insects come into contact with the treated areas, they can be affected. Definitely check the packaging for specifics, but it’s looking like you might need to start fresh.

Thanks for the heads-up! I hate the thought of causing harm while trying to help!
