I'm planning to install some Tapcon screws into a concrete wall in my garage. I've got a Milwaukee driver with a hammer function, and I'm wondering if that's enough to get the job done. Is it suitable for drilling holes to install the Tapcons? Or should I consider getting a concrete drill instead? I really want to avoid buying more tools if possible since I only need to drill six holes, sizing 3/16 inches deep, around 2 inches.

I think your hammer drill will work, just be careful not to break the heads when you screw them in. Once I figured out to blow out the dust from the holes, I had way fewer issues! By the way, if you do break any heads, I've found a pair of pliers really helps get out those stuck pieces.
For such small bits, you probably don't even need the hammer mode. I usually just hand-tighten my Tapcons to avoid stripping or snapping them. It’s a good way to keep things simple or if you're just starting out!
Your hammer drill should work just fine for one that size! I've installed plenty of Tapcons with mine, even used it for 1/2" screws. Just a tip: don’t overtighten them, or you risk breaking the heads off. It really helps to clear the dust out of the holes before you screw them in. I learned that the hard way; breaking heads about 20% of the time really adds up! Always wear a mask and some eye protection too, that dust can be nasty!
