Hey folks! I recently bought a 1950s house and found that the previous owners made some questionable modifications to the roof. They actually shortened the garage and porch to extend the existing roof, which ended up lowering the ceiling height in those areas. I'd really like to raise the roof back up but I'm unsure about which style or slope would work best given that the current slope is barely a 3. I'm open to your ideas and suggestions! Thanks! I get your dilemma! Since everything's one level right now, raising the entire roof uniformly could be a solid plan. Sure, it’ll cost a bit more, but it might give that sleek, cohesive look you're after. What do you think about the overall appearance it would provide? Would it fit better with your home's aesthetic?
Have you thought about going with roof styles 1 or 2 at the same level? It could make for a more stable roof system without any steps. That way, it would blend better with the existing structure without compromising the height you want to regain.
