Looking for Advice on 60V Tool Purchases: String Trimmer, Blower, Chainsaw and More!

I'm looking to buy some new 60V tools to help with lawn care since my trusty 20V trimmer and blower have served me well. My goal is to pick up a 60V string trimmer, an edger attachment, a 60V blower, and a 60V 12-inch chainsaw. I've noticed some options out there, but I'd appreciate guidance on where to buy these, whether in bundles or separately. By the way, I have access to Home Depot, Lowes, and Costco. Any specific model recommendations would also be great!

For the 60V string trimmer, you actually have a few options. The attachment-capable trimmer (model DCST972) is a solid choice, and you'll want that for using the edger attachment. As for the blower, go for the DCBL777—it's quieter and more powerful than the older model. I haven't seen the new 60V 12-inch chainsaw in stock anywhere yet, so you might want to keep an eye out for it.

Just a heads-up, the 777 is the only blower to consider. And if you decide on a chainsaw, any 60V model will work with various bar sizes.

Good call! A 14" or 16" bar could be a good alternative if you can't find the 12-inch saw.

Financing your purchase or waiting for sales can help a lot too! Make sure to buy your tools when discounts come around.

I recommend sticking with the DCST972 for its versatility with attachments. Don't waste money on Dewalt-branded attachments; any universal ones should work just fine. Just be cautious with the DCBL777—running it at full power can drain batteries fast, but it's a blast to use!

Thanks for sharing, that sounds useful!

From my experience using both 20V and 60V tools, I’d say get the 777 for the blower. It’s a lot quieter and has more oomph. For the chainsaw, all models tend to leak oil, so be sure to drain it when you're done. And watch for battery sales—waiting for a good deal is worth it.

I agree on the DCST972 and the DCBL777 combo—great power with comfort! Also, I've had a good experience with the Ryobi attachments as they’re very compatible. For maximum power, definitely swap the string head for an Echo Speed Feed, it outperforms many others.
