How Do I Cut a Hole in the Wall for My Projector?

Hey everyone! I'm excited to share that I'm finally getting a projector, since my bedroom TV quit on me. I have a walk-in closet that runs right at the midpoint of my bedroom where I plan to set it up. I ordered an Epson LS11000, and now I'm trying to figure out the best way to cut a hole in the wall for the projector. Should I make the hole square or circular? I've read online that if I go with a circular hole, it should be around 8 inches wide. Also, do I need a glass cover for it? I'm a bit clueless about how to order an 8-inch piece of glass and how to mount it properly. Any advice would be great!

I suggest cutting a circular hole if you can, as it tends to give you a cleaner look. About the glass cover, while it’s not necessary, it can help protect the projector from dust and other stuff. If you're unsure about the glass part, maybe check local hardware stores; they usually can cut and polish it for you to save you the hassle!

Honestly, you might want to consider why you chose a projector in the first place. They can have a bulb life of only about 5000 hours, after which you'll need to spend $150 to $250 on a new bulb! Then there’s the issue of heat since projectors can run hot because of the bulbs. Just some things to think about before you go cutting that hole!
