I'm trying to join two pieces of 3/4" plywood at a corner using pocket holes. I've drilled the pocket holes on the outer edge so the screws will go through the face of the second board at an angle away from the edge grain, which is the recommended method. However, I'm running into a problem—the Kreg screw guide suggests using 1-1/4" pocket screws for this thickness, but they end up poking through the other side of the plywood! I even tried 1" screws, but they just spin without gripping. It seems like the tips of the screws don't have enough threads to hold properly since they only have half-threads. Can anyone help me with a solution?

You might want to adjust your drill bit's stop collar to make shallower holes. If the screw isn't tightened properly, it can pull through the plywood, so make sure to tighten it carefully.
Also, don’t forget to check the settings for both the drill bit and the clamp plate to ensure they’re set correctly.
