What’s the Best Flooring Option for a Flooded Basement?

Hey everyone! I'm dealing with the aftermath of a basement flood and need to replace the flooring. My basement serves multiple purposes—it's a game room, gym, and bedroom area. What flooring materials do you folks recommend that aren't carpet? I'm looking for something that lasts long, is affordable, and easy to clean!

I'd suggest going with Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP). It holds up well, especially in a space that gets a lot of activity like yours. Plus, for the gym area, consider putting down some gym mats over it for added protection.

Vinyl flooring is a solid choice since it’s pretty much waterproof and super durable. There’s a huge range in quality, so don’t just settle for the cheapest option. Look for thicker options with a good wear layer and scratch rating to keep it looking nice. I'd also lean towards laminates with real wood since they tend to look better. Local flooring stores usually have better selections than big chains, except for places like Floor and Decor.
