How to Efficiently Cut 400 Unique Lengths of Wood Bars?

Hey everyone! I'm tackling a big woodworking project where I need to cut about 400 wood bars, each at different lengths ranging from an arm's length to double that. I've got all the measurements in an Excel sheet, and I need to hit a tight tolerance—about 1/16 of an inch. Although woodworking isn't my main gig, I do own a miter saw. I'm a bit anxious about the potential for measuring errors and how long this might take. I need some advice on the best method or tools to make this task manageable without going broke. Any tips or tricks you could share?

First things first, I’d recommend sorting those lengths in your Excel sheet from shortest to longest and color-coding any duplicates. Once you've got that sorted, print it out and make sure to measure and cut carefully, always keeping the waste on the same side of the blade. It might feel tedious, but you’ll want to mark off each completed cut on your printout as you go along to keep track!

I love the sorting and printing idea! I was thinking maybe print out some stickers with part numbers. If you buy all bars to the maximum length, it could save a lot of hassle later!
