Anyone Tried Installing a Pop-Up Outlet in Their Kitchen Island?

I'm looking to install a pop-up outlet in my kitchen island to meet code requirements without altering the cabinetry. I'm a bit overwhelmed by the options available and I'm especially wary of motorized models since they might break down over time. Has anyone gone through this process? What can you share about your experiences or suggestions?

I just installed some Hubbell pop-up outlets in my tabletop. It requires drilling a large hole, and they use a lock ring to attach. Once installed, they pop up for use and have wireless charging and USB-C ports. Just a heads up, they require quite a bit of space below, and they cost around $250 each. Oh, and I’m a licensed electrician, so it’s a pretty routine job for me!

I decided against a pop-up outlet because I wanted a flush mount version, but they’re tricky to install and not easily replaceable. If something goes wrong years later and the manufacturer has stopped making that style, you're looking at a big headache.

Outlets on the sides of kitchen islands aren't compliant with new codes anymore. If you're looking for a recommendation, I've had great success with Hubbell electric tripower units. They're reliable, though not the cheapest option.
