Is It Safe to Use Chlorinated Hose Water for My Garden?

I've been using my backyard hose to water my garden—everything from tomatoes to flowers—but I'm worried about the chlorine in the water. I do leave some jugs out overnight to dechlorinate the smaller plants, but it's not enough for my larger plants that need daily watering. I have a rain barrel, but it's not set up yet. I'm curious, how many of you just use chlorinated hose water and hope your plants will be okay?

Honestly, it's not as terrible as it sounds. Chlorine does evaporate when the water sits out for a while, and while it's important to consider, most plants can handle it just fine. It's probably less harmful than you think!

That's good to hear! Just to clarify, does that mean chlorine basically dissipates in the soil before it can hurt the roots?
