Can I Use My Sink as a Water Source for Power Washing My Balcony?

I'm planning to power wash my apartment balcony, but I don't have an outdoor water source. I bought a sink-to-garden-hose adapter, but I'm concerned that the water pressure might not be enough for the pressure washer. Would it work if I filled a 5-gallon bucket with sink water and placed the hose into it? Any other suggestions for cleaning my L-shaped concrete balcony, which measures 28FT x 6ft and 24FT x 3FT?

Definitely give that adapter a shot! If the pressure washer sounds engaged and throws out a solid jet of water, you're set. But if it starts chugging and sounds off, turn it off to avoid damaging it. I’ve read that can happen pretty quickly without proper water flow.

Removing the aerator from your faucet can significantly boost pressure. If your bathroom sink is too weak, switching to the kitchen sink should help. Just keep an eye on the flow; you wouldn’t want to burn out the pump if the water doesn’t flow well enough!

Thanks for the tip! I noticed my bathroom sink has awful pressure. I’ll switch to the kitchen sink. You mentioned it could leak a bit, right?

Using the bucket method probably won’t cut it. Just try your sink directly with the adapter. Most pressure washers don’t need a crazy high flow rate, so it might just work fine!
