I've noticed spotted lanternflies in my area and I'm curious about how widespread this issue is. Who else is experiencing this problem, and what strategies are you using to manage them?

I’m on a mission to treat the Tree of Heaven in my yard and I try to spread the word to my neighbors too. When I'm feeling a bit bored, I grab my Bug A Salt gun and take a good swat at them! I just focus on the ones that land on my veggies, like okra and cucumbers—no mercy!

I've only seen the nymphs so far, and they tend to end up in my pool—really makes for some weird pool parties! ?

My brother's place is overrun with them, especially since it's surrounded by Tree of Heaven, their favorite spot. He hasn’t done much about it since the infestation is pretty crazy. I even found a stem with dozens of nymphs all over it! The bad news is, he can't cut down all the trees because they’re not all on his property. But if he ever decides to remove any, he should definitely poison them first. Just chopping them down won’t help since they can regrow aggressively from the roots.

Absolutely! If he doesn't poison the roots, those trees will just keep popping back up. Gotta be strategic with these guys!
