I'm curious if anyone else in zone 9a is dealing with super hot weather (over 95 degrees) and whether your tomatoes are flowering. I'm struggling with mine and would love to hear any tips or tricks that might help!

This is my first year growing tomatoes, and I’m managing to get some flowers on my cherry plants! I’ve been watering early in the morning and not during the hottest part of the day. They’re tucked away from the brutal afternoon sun, which seems to help. Good luck to all of us in this crazy heat!
In my experience, when temps are this high, they often pause flowering and just hold out until the weather cools down. Keeping them well-watered is key. Plus, I've heard from others that shade cloth can really help, but if the air is still hot, it might just be tough to get them to flower right now.
Yeah, they usually bounce back once the heat wave is over. Fingers crossed that happens soon!
I've noticed my tomatoes aren't flowering as much this year either, especially in this heat. I found that watering them every day instead of every other day helps a bit. You might also want to consider shade cloth as it can cool the ambient temperature around the plants and prevent them from burning. I’ve heard that at temps above 90, they really struggle to produce. Once it cools down, don't forget to fertilize for blooming and fruiting later!
Yeah, I've been using shade cloth too! It really makes a difference. I also try to water in the early morning to help them survive this brutal heat.
Totally agree! I've been doing the same and it seems to help. Just hang in there until the weather cools off!
I’m in the same boat! My tomatoes are finally starting to flower, but it’s been a battle. I’ve got a drip system that waters them for 10 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes at night, plus I’m using some organic fertilizer. So far, I have a handful of ripe ones, but they’re mostly green. Just gotta hang tight until the temperature drops!
Sounds like you're doing great! Just keep up with that watering schedule and maybe try some shade. It always helps!
I’ve seen some people have success with heavy row covers to protect them when it’s chilly at night. Might be worth a shot!

That makes sense! I’ll definitely keep that in mind and see how they fare when it cools down.
