I recently noticed some water in my basement after the snow melted. There's a deck right above that area, and I can't really get under it to add topsoil or redirect the water. Do you think I need to call a repairman, or is this manageable?

It’s definitely something worth addressing, but it’s not an emergency yet. The water in the soil around your foundation can create a lot of pressure, so sloping the ground away from the house is important. Good gutters and possibly adding drainage tiles could help too. Also, make sure any basement windows are covered to prevent more moisture from getting in. It’s a situation where every little bit helps!
Is the snow on your deck melting and dripping underneath? If your deck is as big as you say and there’s a downspout close by, that could be directing water right where you don't want it. Keep an eye on how heavy the melting is; it could be a sign that you need to manage water better around your foundation.
If you’re not planning to finish your basement, a little water isn't a huge deal—lots of old houses deal with water issues. I know a house that has a stream running through its basement and it’s still standing strong after a couple of centuries! But if the water is coming through a joint in the concrete, check for any visible gaps in the insulation where water could seep in. You could seal any gaps with caulk once it’s dry. For now, I'd suggest getting a cheap water sensor alarm to monitor the situation.
