Advice Needed on Choosing Blinds for My Apartment Windows

Hey everyone! I recently moved into a new apartment and I'm feeling a bit lost when it comes to what to get for my windows. I have a sliding door as well as a small window, both of which let in a lot of natural light. Should I buy one set of blinds that covers the entire area or separate blinds for the sliding door and the small window? The small window has a ledge that sticks out about 3 inches. If I go with one set for both, will it let in light since the blinds will be further away from the sliding door? I'm totally new to this, so any advice would be super helpful!

Definitely consider light-blocking curtains. They work wonders and can really help with those bright sunrays coming in. If you attach them directly to the door, it might not be necessary to cover everything separately unless you really want to. Just make sure to measure correctly!

Thanks for the tip! I'll check out those light-blocking options.

I recommend covering the whole area! It's easier to just hang a curtain rod across everything and then get blackout curtains. The ledge on the small window won’t cause any issues as long as your curtains have a decent width. You’ll get better light control that way too!
