How Can I Keep Pigeons Out of My Garden?

I'm really struggling with a pigeon problem in my garden. These birds have made themselves quite comfortable here, and they're constantly hanging around, especially on my roof, which is super noisy with around twenty of them at a time! I'm contemplating filling my garden with plants to eliminate their landing spots since I know they prefer open areas. Will that actually help? Also, I want to find a way to deal with the pigeons on my roof without causing distress to any other little birds. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I feel you on the noise! Pigeons can be really disruptive. A solid barrier like fine netting could help protect your plants while still letting your garden thrive. I’d definitely recommend trying it over any plants they seem to love; I've had success with that in my garden!

Great tip about the netting! It might be a little extra work, but it could save your plants from being snacked on. Good luck with those pigeons!

It sounds like you've got quite the situation on your hands! I know it can be tough to cope with noisy pigeons. Blocking their landing spots by filling your garden with plants might help deter them. But keep in mind that if they’ve been fed in the past (like if neighbors have bird tables), it’s going to be a challenge. Maybe consider some gentle noise deterrents as well, like wind chimes?

That could work! Just be prepared, as they can be pretty persistent. I’ve had similar issues, and wind chimes did help a bit!
