Hey everyone! I'm currently working on a project to convert a large box truck into a tiny house on wheels. I'm planning to use the Victron Cerbo GX to monitor my water and fuel tanks, utilizing resistive sensors for the water tanks and a Mopeka Pro for the propane tank. Additionally, I want to power everything with the EG4 12000XP and LifePower4 V2 batteries.
The goal is to streamline the system by using the 12000XP instead of managing multiple MPPTs, especially since the largest Victron inverter (the Quattro 10kVA) doesn't meet my power needs with multiple computers and a 12000 BTU heat pump, plus there isn't enough space for two Quattros.
Is it feasible to use the Cerbo GX to monitor the EG4 12000XP and the batteries? I haven't found much info online and I've reached out to both EG4 and Victron, but I thought I'd also ask here!

To get the Cerbo GX to work with your Victron inverters, you'll definitely need to connect the battery's BMS.CAN ethernet port to the CerboGX’s corresponding port. However, just a heads-up—you won't be able to directly monitor the EG4 12000XP with the Cerbo GX since the EG4 system doesn’t communicate in the Victron CAN protocol. You might want to explore other ways to integrate your monitoring setup!
If you're facing compatibility issues with the Cerbo GX and EG4, consider setting up a home assistant system! It can integrate various hardware and provide a unified monitoring system for all your gadgets, which might help you manage everything more effectively.
