How to Let Light Into My Room While Keeping It Private?

Hey folks! I'm redecorating my room and I really want to let in a lot of natural light for my plants. However, I also need to be able to block out the light completely since I'm a huge gamer and love my blackout curtains. The catch is, I live on the ground floor and my neighbors can be a bit nosy. So, I'm looking for something I can use on my windows to let light in while also keeping prying eyes out. Ideally, I'm thinking about a film or covering that makes it hard for people outside to see in, maybe something that gives a blurry effect? Any ideas?

You might want to check out window film. There are different types available; some have patterns that create a blurry look, while others are reflective, allowing you to see outside but making it hard for anyone outside to see in. Just a heads-up, the reflective kind works best during the day!

Thanks for the tip! I'm tempted to go for the reflective one, but I don’t want to blind anyone! My windows get direct sunlight.

I second the window film idea! It works incredibly well!

You could go for frosted window films or even sheer curtains that let light in while still keeping your privacy. With sheer curtains, you can easily move them aside when you want to look outside—super flexible!

Consider using privacy window film or blackout curtains. The film allows light to filter in while blocking outside views, and blackout curtains can help you get complete darkness when needed. It's a simple but effective solution!
