What Kind of Professional Should I Hire to Run a Water Line to My Fridge?

I'm looking to run a water line to my fridge and I'm considering a couple of options. I can either go through a few cabinet sections to reach my sink and strap the line along the sides, or go a sturdier and cleaner route behind the wall. Who would be the right person to hire for this job and how many hours should I expect it to take? Is this a standard task that requires a lot of experience, or could it be considered a basic job? Thanks for your help!

I agree, going the DIY route is viable if you’re comfortable with basic plumbing. Just make sure to connect it properly under the sink. If you’re nervous about leaks, you can still opt for a handyman; they can do it in an hour or so without the high costs of a plumber. Just make sure to check that everything is secure!

But remember, if you're in a cold climate, don't run it along an exterior wall; that’ll lead to freezing issues. Just running it through the cabinets will work just fine!

Honestly, this is something you could try doing yourself if you're a bit handy. I recently did it, and it was relatively easy. You just need some sharkbite connectors and the right tools. It should take about two hours if you prep everything in advance. Plus, running the line through the cabinets is way less hassle than trying to go behind the wall!

Totally! Drill a few holes in the cabinets and run the tubing. It’s a simple task and won’t break the bank as long as you measure correctly and buy quality parts.

Starting off, it sounds like you should definitely consider hiring a plumber since they specialize in running water lines. It's a pretty straightforward job for them, and they can give you the best advice for the installation. Just be sure to ask them any questions you have when you call!
