I recently bought a house and I'm planning to renovate the bathroom. I've picked out some beautiful tiles for the floors and the tub surround, but since this is going to be the only bathtub in the house, I'm worried about the kids making a mess. I'm anxious about them potentially using markers or crayons on the tiles. For those who have gone through this—especially with little ones—how did you manage? I want to make my home look nice without having to redo this renovation down the line.

Honestly, tile is super easy to clean, so I wouldn't stress about markers too much. My kids have drawn on our tiles before, and it came off easily! Just focus on picking a tile that isn't shiny to avoid slipping.
You might want to avoid slippery tiles, as that's more of a concern! Textured tiles can help with that but can be tough to clean. If you keep markers and crayons off-limits outside their craft area, you’ll lessen the chances of a mess!
Having been around kids my whole life, I've never really seen them ruin tile. Damage usually happens when something heavy gets dropped. Just keep an eye on them, and they should be fine!
True, but I do remember my brother once chipping kitchen tile with his teeth! Thankfully, his teeth were okay, but the chip was noticeable. Tile is durable—just make sure the kids don't do anything super wild!

Yeah, grout can be a pain though! But I've had good luck cleaning it—it’s held up well against washable markers and even crayons.
