Warranty Issues with My Impact Tool – Need Advice!

I recently dealt with a frustrating situation regarding my impact tool. I sent it in for warranty service because it started shooting metal out during heavy use, which is pretty dangerous, especially since I often work in tight spaces. I initially received this impact (model H96A) as a replacement due to a recall on the H96B I had before, which was losing torque. However, when I tried to get warranty support for the H96A, Milwaukee informed me that I needed proof of purchase for the original impact I sent in years ago. The problem is, I never kept that proof because it wasn't necessary for the recall process. Plus, I can't access my old account with Home Depot to retrieve any receipts since it was deleted due to inactivity. I'm really stuck here since Milwaukee is holding my impact but won't cover it unless I provide that receipt. What options do I even have?

You might want to check if you can recover your Home Depot account. They often have a way to pull up receipts even from deleted accounts if you provide them with the right info like your email or purchase history. It could be worth a shot!

That's a great idea! Many stores keep records for a while, so they might surprise you.

If you can’t get the receipt, try reaching out to Milwaukee’s customer service again. Sometimes speaking to a supervisor can help get things sorted. Document everything with dates and names so they can't say you didn’t reach out.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely try calling back and push for a supervisor.
