Issues with My Table Saw – Any Ideas?

Hey everyone! I've been having some trouble with my job site table saw (DWD7491) that I bought new just three months ago. It's started making this awful clunking noise when I lower the blade, and now it rattles a lot when it used to be smooth. There wasn't any specific event that led to this – one moment it was working perfectly, and now it's acting up. I'd really appreciate any advice or insights you might have!

It sounds like the cams might be clogged with sawdust. Try blowing out the trunnion and give the arbor some dry lubrication. That usually helps with those kinds of issues!

I thought it might be a clog too, so I blew out the dust, but no luck. It’s seen a lot of use in just three months, though, so maybe it just got a bit dried out.

You might want to turn the saw over to get a good look at what’s happening. It could be that something’s loose or just needs some lubrication. A visual inspection could help a lot!

Don’t forget to lubricate the rear slide! I have a few Dewalt saws that need regular lubing there since it takes a lot of the force when ripping. You might as well lube the height adjusting screw and the front slide while you're at it. Make sure to let the motor mount realign after reassembling everything!

Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely take a closer look tonight and will keep you posted with an update.

Honestly, it seems like something could have broken in the assembly that raises and lowers the blade. My saw has access to that assembly underneath, and it definitely requires regular maintenance for lubing and cleaning.

I hope it’s not something broken! I didn't notice any specific event that led to this, but I'll check things out later today to see what’s going on.
