Should I Wait for Solid-State Batteries for Home Solar Systems?

I'm planning to buy batteries for my home solar setup and I'm curious if better solid-state batteries are on the horizon for everyday use. Should I hold off from spending around $7,000 on six batteries, or is it safe to go ahead with the purchase? Thanks for your insights!

Solid-state batteries have been promised to be just a few years away for the last decade, so I wouldn't hold my breath for them. I'd say go for the LFP batteries—they're reliable and very affordable right now.

Honestly, waiting for new tech can be a trap. LFP is the go-to battery right now. I've heard sodium-ion might catch up in a few years, but for now, LFP is the king.

If you can swing it, just get the LFP batteries. Even if solid-state ones arrive soon, they likely won't match the price of current LFP options. So it's best to invest in what's available now rather than waiting.
