Hey everyone! I'm in the market for a circular saw that can also function as a track saw. I'm not keen on investing in a dedicated track saw right now, so I'm hoping to find something versatile. I primarily use a red tool platform, and I'm torn between going cordless or sticking with a corded model. Ultimately, I need a saw that can make clean, accurate cuts on full sheets of plywood. My last saw just broke down, so I'm eager for some recommendations! Thanks!

When choosing a circular saw for track use, I'd recommend looking for one with a cast base. They tend to be flatter than stamped steel options, which is crucial for accurate cuts. Plus, cordless is super convenient, especially if you’re moving around a lot.
I got the Kreg Accu Cut early on, and it's surprisingly accurate! If you haven't already purchased a saw, just get the Makita 15 Amp circular saw. It’s corded, lightweight, and has great features like an LED light and dust blower. I've linked it here: [Makita Circular Saw](https://www.homedepot.com/p/Makita-15-Amp-7-1-4-in-Corded-Lightweight-Magnesium-Circular-Saw-with-LED-Light-Dust-Blower-24T-Carbide-blade-Hard-Case-5007MG/100594811). You won't regret it!
You might want to check YouTube for DIY track guides made from wood! I’ve seen folks make them, and they're not too tricky if you can make one straight cut for the guide. You'll lose the channel feature that keeps the saw in track, but using scraps can save you money. Kreg also sells a guide that connects to your saw—great option if you decide to go that route.
