I'm looking to cover the floor in a storage outbuilding. It's got an old wood floor that's in rough shape, and I don't plan on restoring it. I want to lay down some cheap vinyl flooring without going all out on glue. My idea is to cut the vinyl to size, glue it only around the edges, and then use quarter round trim. I just want a clean, easy-to-maintain floor without spending a fortune. Is this doable?

Yeah, it's definitely possible! Just make sure to only use glue spots around the edges instead of fully gluing it down. This way, you leave some space for expansion and contraction. Lay the vinyl down first and let it sit for a few days to acclimate to the room temperature before applying any glue. If you rush it, you might end up with wrinkles since the vinyl has been rolled up for a while. If it's not a living area, this method should work just fine!

Awesome, thanks! Any recommendations for adhesives or does it not really matter? How far apart should the dots be?
