What’s Going On with the DEWALT 8V MAX Gyroscopic Screwdriver?

Has anyone figured out why the DEWALT 8V MAX Cordless Gyroscopic Screwdrivers are essentially impossible to find right now? I heard they might be on back order or discontinued, and I'm curious if there are any updates or insights on this situation.

Actually, they are discontinued and have been for a while, even if it doesn’t say so on the main site. You can still hunt them down on eBay for crazy prices, but I was lucky to snag one locally for just $100 CAD! Just a heads up, it looks like they’ve been off the shelves in Canada for ages too.

From what I've heard, they haven't been officially discontinued, but it seems DEWALT isn't rushing to produce more. They might be phasing out that whole battery platform for newer models. Tough luck for us who like the gyro models.

I reached out to DEWALT a month ago, asking if the 8V tools were being discontinued since they're hard to find. They said they don't have any updates right now but will let us know if anything changes. So, I guess the official stance is just a waiting game for now.
