I'm a big fan of Magic the Gathering and have always dreamed of crafting an awesome tabletop that showcases all my favorite cards. The idea is to have a table topped with a transparent layer that allows the beautiful artwork of the cards to be clearly visible. However, I want to ensure that the cards are protected and not easily scratched over time. What materials would be scratch-resistant yet still offer great clarity for this setup?

I once made a similar setup using a poster on a table. I attached it with spray adhesive, then added about ten layers of clear polyurethane to protect it. After that, I topped it off with a glass cover. This method worked well for me and kept everything looking sharp!
Check out something like what they have in this pixel bar image! You could get a deep shadow box frame with a glass front to display the cards. Just mount them on a foam board so they sit nicely against the glass. Add some legs to raise it off the ground, and you’ll have a sweet setup where you can still retrieve the cards if you want.
If you're looking to keep the cards accessible, one option would be to put them under a glass top, but if you're okay with them being fixed in place, you might consider using epoxy resin along with a glass layer. I would recommend doing some research first for the best results, and definitely share your project once it's complete!
