Advice on Replacing Interior Doors Without the Hassle

Hey everyone! I need some guidance on replacing my old and worn-out hollow interior doors. I've heard that pre-hung doors are awesome, but I'm not looking to completely redo the moulding or repaint everything. I'm thinking of finding a contractor to measure the existing frames and replace them with new doors instead.

Here's what I'm curious about:
- If I assume a new door costs around $300, what would be a realistic total cost for replacing 10 doors, including shipping and services?
- What other important questions should I ask a contractor before hiring them for this job?

Thanks so much for your help!

Why not go for a combination approach? Consider hiring someone to install pre-hung doors for you. They're typically easier to install than custom doors fitted into existing frames. After that, your main job would just be touching up the paint on the mouldings if needed!

I’m open to that! I’ve been tempted by contractors claiming they can custom order doors and install in a day with "no mess." As a working mom with an infant, I just want an upgrade from these cracked old doors, but I can be convinced otherwise!
