My grandma planted some gladiolus bulbs two years ago, but they haven't produced any flowers yet! They seem healthy, growing only a couple of leaves each growing season. I'm considering moving them to our backyard where there's full sun and more space, but I want to make sure this isn't normal behavior for them before I do anything.

Check out the size of my glads! They grow tall and healthy every year after I move them. Just make sure you’re not rushing the process because they really can take their sweet time. Here's a pic:
Yeah, you can definitely move them! Just wait until the leaves completely die back. In my zone (9b), I can leave them in the ground, but if you’re in a cooler zone, fall is a good time to dig them up and replant. Just give them enough time to rest during the winter!
I'm in zone 6b too! Guess I’ll be waiting until fall then!
When I had gladiolus, I used to dig them up in autumn and replant them in spring. They might not survive winter where you are, which could explain why you only see the small offshoots. Just be patient, as these little ones take time to grow big enough to bloom!
They’re already pretty big though; all the leaves are at least a foot long each year!

Nice! Mine look pretty similar, just waiting for them to bloom!
