I've had this succulent for about two years. I got it from Trader Joe's when it was just a tiny plant, but now it's grown quite tall and even fell over today! I'm looking for help with identifying what kind of succulent it is and how to properly care for it moving forward. Thanks for any advice you can share!

It looks like you have a Kalanchoe blossfeldiana! The reason it's becoming limp and leggy is likely due to a condition called etiolation, which happens when a plant isn't getting enough sunlight. To help it grow stronger and more compact, consider giving it a bit more sunshine gradually, or use a grow light if sunlight is hard to come by for you. It sounds like you're on the right track with your care!
Absolutely! Cutting it back can help it grow denser. Since it gets plenty of sunlight now, trimming it a bit should promote new growth and keep it looking nice and compact. Just make sure to use clean, sharp shears to prevent any potential infections on the cut surfaces.
Thanks for the tips! I recently repotted it to get it closer to the light, so I’ll consider cutting it back to help it out. Appreciate the help!

Thanks for the tip! I’ve definitely noticed that my plant stretches when I keep it in lower light. Have you ever cut back on the plant to make it grow more compact? I’m interested in trying that!
