I just repotted 26 plants after realizing I couldn't handle the gnat issue anymore—it's been about a week since I last saw any, fingers crossed! Now I'm thinking ahead: what can I add to my soil to improve airflow and drainage to prevent these pesky gnats from coming back? I know it's a little late since I've just repotted, but I want to ensure my plants stay gnat-free in the future.

One trick I've learned is to bottom water your plants. Gnats tend to live in the upper part of the soil, so keeping that layer drier can help. I also sprinkle some diatomaceous earth on top—while it’s not a total guarantee, it can definitely help keep them at bay.
What was your repotting process like? I recently dealt with the same gnat issue and repotted 13 plants, but they are still coming back in smaller numbers, which is super frustrating! ?
Great idea! I have some soaking in jugs right now—can they stay in the water indefinitely or just for a certain period before I need to use them?

I use mosquito bits in my watering routine.
