Using a Timer for My Barrina Grow Lights: Do I Keep the Switch On?

Asked By SunnyDays1234 On

I recently received Barrina grow lights as a gift, and I've been manually turning them on each morning and off at night. With some upcoming weekend trips, I'm considering using a timer for convenience. My big question is, do I need to leave the switch on the Barrina cord all the time for the timer to work? I'm a bit confused about how the timer interacts with the switch. Any insights would be appreciated!

I’ve got Barrina lights too! Honestly, I think you might want to skip the timer and go for a smart plug instead. I use a Kasa smart plug for mine, and it gives you so much flexibility. You can set it to turn on and off based on your personal schedule or even sync it with actual sunrise and sunset times. Just remember to leave that switch on! Here's a link to the plug I got: [Kasa Smart Plug](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079B7SHD8?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_2). The setup was super easy, and I can control it all from my phone!

Yes, you'll need to keep the switch on at all times. The timer will take over the role of controlling the light's power, turning it on or off based on your schedule. It's pretty straightforward once you get it set up!
