Hey everyone! I just took over a small (3'x5') garden spot outside my classroom that gets full sun, and I'm eager to grow some flowers. Is it too late in the season to start sowing seeds for flowers or other plants that will last until fall? Also, I can water daily if needed since we usually get some afternoon rain. Any suggestions? 🙂

Asters are a solid choice since they bloom in fall and are native to the area. It’s also not too late to sow zinnias—Western NC tends to have a mild fall. If you're interested in edibles, consider planting brassicas and lettuces this time of year!
Don't forget about arugula and beets! They can thrive in the cooler months as well.
You can definitely plant decorative kale around this time for some autumn vibes! It’s a great pick for this season. Plus, if you're thinking of flowers, pansies would pair nicely with them!
Awesome, I’m going to try that! I’ll start some kale and pansies indoors.

Thanks for the tips! I’ll be sure to grab some zinnia and aster seeds.
