Should I Stick with Ryobi Tools for Weekend Gardening?

Hey everyone! I'm diving into gardening on weekends and thinking about upgrading my tools. Right now, I have a hodgepodge of equipment, but I'm leaning towards electric tools. I've got two Ryobi batteries from a drill, which is my only Ryobi tool so far. Do you think it makes sense to invest in more Ryobi tools like a mower, blower, hedge trimmer, or even a chainsaw for personal use? However, I'm a bit concerned about the 18V power – does it pack enough punch, or should I look into other brands? Any advice would be super helpful!

Thanks for the tips! I've learned chainsaw basics from a relative and I'm aware of the safety risks. I'm new to some brands like Husqvarna but excited to look them up! Also, I'm juggling an apprenticeship not related to landscaping, so I’m unsure how qualifying might affect that, but I have an interest in plants and taking care of my own garden since I was young.

I’d definitely recommend getting some training before using a chainsaw; they can be pretty dangerous, even the battery ones. If you're mainly doing commercial work, you might find Ryobi a bit underwhelming. Brands like Husqvarna, Ego, and Stihl are worth checking out – they have more power for those bigger tasks. Also, look into local landscape courses for some extra knowledge; it can really help your business in the long run!
