Hey everyone! I just mowed my lawn and was wondering if it's safe to use the grass clippings left over to help with my vegetable seedlings that I'm planting this weekend. Has anyone tried this? Would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks! <3

If your lawn is treated with herbicides, using the clippings can be risky due to chemical residues. Make sure your grass is clean!
It's super important to consider what kind of grass you've cut. Some types, like Bermuda, can regrow and invade your garden space. If you're using a grass that doesn't spread, you should be good to go!
Using grass clippings in your compost is a great way to provide nitrogen! Just be careful with how much you add to your garden directly, especially if it's fresh cut. It can really help improve your soil after it's broken down.
I tried this once and ended up burning my green beans with fresh cut grass. It's risky! You might want to let it compost first or mix it with other materials to avoid it touching the plants directly.
Wow, glad you mentioned that! Sorry about your beans, though!

Totally agree! I'm adding some cardboard and leaves to mine, plus food scraps soaked in water. Looks like it'll be a good mix!
