Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on how to make my deck safer, especially for kids. At the base of my deck, there are these concrete pillars that just feel like an accident waiting to happen. I'm wondering if there are any creative solutions for wrapping or cushioning them to help protect against falls. Has anyone tried anything like this?

One idea is to wrap the edges with UV-resistant flexible insulation. It can help soften the blow if someone trips and hits their head on those sharp corners. You might find similar materials that they use for outdoor HVAC systems that could work well for this situation.
I totally get your concern! The biggest risk is definitely a child running and tripping over the concrete. Something soft and cushioned around those posts could make a big difference for peace of mind. Just make sure whatever you choose is durable and can withstand the elements!
