How Can I Safely Remove Poison Ivy Without Harming My Trees?

I'm dealing with some poison ivy that's popping up around my mature silver maple and oak trees, and I could really use some advice. Is it safe to spray the poison ivy with Roundup without risking damage to the trees? Any tips on how to do this carefully would be appreciated!

Yes, Roundup can be used, but make sure to spray it carefully. I suggest using a spray bottle for precise application directly on the poison ivy leaves. If you're worried, you could also try cutting the plants back instead of using chemicals. Just be cautious!

A spray bottle sounds like a good idea! Just be really gentle when you spray to avoid getting it on other plants.

You should be fine using Roundup as long as you dilute it properly! The key is to make sure you get good coverage on the poison ivy itself, so a little overspray on the tree bark shouldn't be a huge issue. Just be careful not to use anything stronger than Roundup, as that could really harm the trees. Good luck!
