What Should I Do If My Succulent’s Leaves Are Touching the Soil?

I recently rescued a succulent from the supermarket, and I've been told by a friend that the leaves shouldn't be touching the soil. However, in my case, they always seem to make contact with the dirt. Should I be removing the leaves that are touching the soil?

You definitely want to keep those leaves off the soil as much as possible. If they're touching, it could lead to rot or other issues. If they're already touching, I'd recommend carefully removing them to prevent any problems, especially since it's a rescue plant. Just make sure to handle it gently!

Yeah, that makes sense! I had a similar issue before, and removing the lower leaves helped my plant thrive better. Also, giving it a little more space can encourage healthy growth.

While it’s ideal for succulent leaves not to touch the soil, if it’s only a few, you might not need to stress too much about it. Monitor your plant's health, and if you notice any yellowing or mushiness, then definitely remove those leaves. Just keep an eye on it!

Sounds good! I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks for the tips!
