Help! EcoFlow MC4 to TX60 Polarity Confusion

Hey everyone, I recently bought an Anker Solix C1000X and was bummed to find out it didn't come with a solar charging adapter. I ordered an EcoFlow one online, but when I went to connect it, I noticed that the MC4 connectors seem to be reversed. The black cable from the adapter, which should be negative, has a positive (male) MC4 connector that connects to the rounded end, which is usually positive. Meanwhile, the red cable is negative but connects to the flat side, typically used for negative. I'm really worried that if I hook it up like this, I could either face no issues or possibly fry my battery controller. Should I get some adapters to fix this before plugging it in?

It sounds like you’re on the right track worrying about the polarity! Just to clarify, the XT60 connectors are usually flat on the positive side, not negative. As for the MC4s, the positive should be female on the source side and male on the load side. Double-check that setup! If you have any doubt, I’d suggest getting some adapters to switch those connectors around before plugging it in. Better safe than sorry, right?

Totally agree with you! It's always best to verify the wiring before connecting anything. If you can find diagrams for the XT60 and MC4 connectors, that could really help clear up any confusion.

Yeah, that sounds tricky! MC4 connectors can be quite confusing at times. Definitely don't connect them until you’re sure about the polarity. Maybe look for visual aids online that show the correct connector orientations—those can make a big difference in understanding. Don’t risk frying anything if there’s a chance it’s wrong!

Good suggestion! I always found that checking out visuals really helps with these kinds of setups. It’s such a pain when things don’t match up like they should.
