What’s the Etiquette for Posting Between This Sub and r/Whittling?

Hey everyone! I just got into whittling last week and I'm super excited about it. I've been wondering about the posting etiquette between this community and r/Whittling. Is it generally okay to cross-post my work across both subs, or should I stick to one? I guess I'm curious if there are any unwritten rules I should be aware of. I don't want to offend anyone, but I'm also not opposed to sharing my excitement wherever I can! Thanks in advance!

Honestly, I’d recommend avoiding cross-posting. It can be a bit annoying since both subs have a lot of the same people. It feels like you’re just duplicating your audience. That said, there are no hard rules against it, and most folks won’t say anything mean if you do! Just don't sell anything—those posts can get a bad rep! If you're excited, don’t hesitate to share, especially as you’re just starting out!

Gotcha! So it seems the main thing to avoid is selling stuff. Maybe I’ll just post different content relevant to each sub. But if we’re all in the same boat, why have two separate subs? I guess I’ll just experiment and see how it goes!

From what I’ve seen, there’s no issue with posting in both places! A lot of us share our work across both subs. ? Just go for it!

I totally do it too! I post the same piece on both subs for that extra visibility. Gotta earn my street cred, right? ?
