I've been living with my flatmate for two months now, and I've noticed he has significant body odor issues. I didn't pick up on this during our initial interviews, but now I find it quite bothersome. As someone who's very particular about cleanliness and how my living space smells, it's been tough. Thankfully, the odor doesn't reach my room, but it definitely makes the living room unpleasant. I really care about this place—I've been here since it was renovated and decorated it all myself. I've tried hinting at the issue, but nothing seems to be working. Are there any effective solutions, either natural or otherwise, to help with this odor? I've already used countless air fresheners, but they only mask the smell temporarily.

Have you thought about getting an air purifier? A couple of those tower types with replaceable filters could really help. Just a heads-up, though—this odor can seep into your furniture, making it tough to get rid of later. Good luck!
It's possible he might have a dietary issue or something going on that's making him smell. Some people lack specific enzymes that help break down things that cause odor. If he’s showering and using deodorant, maybe it’s time to chat about changing his routine or products.
You might want to be straightforward with him about this. He might not even realize how strong the smell is. Also, if it’s his clothes that are the problem, maybe suggest he gives them a good wash? You could also try using a big diffuser with essential oils or even a window fan to help clear the air.
I know I need to say something; it feels harder than breaking up with someone! But I’ll gather the courage—thanks for the advice!

Yikes, that’s a scary thought! Haha, but I’ll definitely look into the purifiers. Thanks for the tip!
