Has Anyone Tried Eating Fruit Grown from F1 Seeds?

I want to hear from anyone who has grown fruit from F1 seeds and actually tried the fruit. I've heard the myth that F1 seeds won't produce fruit, but I know that's not true - they just yield unpredictable results. I've personally grown a plant from an F1 seed that sprouted as a volunteer, so I'm curious about others' experiences. What fruits have you grown from F1 seeds, and how did they turn out?

I’ve been growing out F1 seeds for a while now, especially with tomatoes. I’m on my F3 generation with some heirlooms, and they’ve been pretty stable. However, I did have a weird experience with some zucchini - the results were all over the place! It really depends on what you’re aiming for. Sometimes you get great fruit, other times it's a bit of a let-down.

I grow F1s every year, and honestly, I’m shocked at how many myths there are about gardening. The fruit can be hit or miss, but I've had good luck with tomatoes. Some years they turn out great, and some years not so much – it’s really a gamble!

What types of tomatoes have you grown? I'm looking forward to seeing what my F1 plants produce!

Yeah, I let a bunch of my volunteer tomatoes grow, but they ended up tasting different from the original. They weren't bad, just not as sweet as the real Sungolds I love. It’s always an adventure with those hybrids!
