How Can I Find the Gas Shutoff Valve on My Water Heater?

I'm trying to locate the gas shutoff valve on my water heater, which is located on the third floor in a compact closet next to the HVAC system. I shot a video showing the space [here](https://imgur.com/jbhj8wI). It's pretty tight in there, and I can't easily see the backside of the water heater. I don't see any valves on the front or sides, but I noticed a horizontal tube at the back that I believe is the gas supply line, and it has a blue valve attached. Is that the gas shutoff valve, or could it be something else?

That blue valve you're seeing is likely the gas shutoff valve you need! It's common to have different colors for valves, and blue doesn't always mean cold water — in some cases, it can indicate gas as well. Just make sure to turn it fully clockwise to shut off the gas. Always good to double-check before getting started!

Thanks for the confirmation! I guess the color threw me off since I usually associate blue with cold water. I feel better knowing I’m on the right track!
