Hey everyone, I'm a newbie gardener and took this advice to bury some tiny dead fish in my soil to help my plants grow. Recently, my family ate some raw carrots that were growing pretty close to where I buried the fish. They've been decomposing underground for about a week or two. I'm a bit worried and just wanted to know if this could harm my family. Did I mess up?

You really don't need to worry! There are all sorts of decomposing things in soil all the time. Fish emulsion is actually a common fertilizer that a lot of gardeners use, so you're not alone in this. Just keep your plants healthy and you'll be fine!
Just remember that our soil is full of life, and lots of it is decomposing stuff! If anything, washing the carrots should be sufficient. There's far more decaying materials around than just your fish. So, no worries!
As long as you guys washed the carrots before eating, there's usually nothing to stress about. Decaying organic matter might have some noticeable effects quickly if it were bad. Just clean your veggies well next time!
