Why Are Milwaukee’s Outdoor Power Equipment Tools Priced Higher Than Others?

I'm a bit perplexed by Milwaukee's pricing strategy for their outdoor power equipment (OPE), especially with the recent announcement of the M18 snowblower. Despite its specs not matching those of dedicated OPE brands, Milwaukee's tools seem to come with a higher price tag. I want to stick with one battery platform for my tools, but I'm worried I'd just be paying extra for the brand without getting the power and features I need.

I was in the same boat, but I ultimately switched to Ego for my yard tools. I couldn't justify the Milwaukee price, especially when their two-battery tools felt like a temporary fix. Plus, their yard tools just didn’t cut it for my needs. My Ego zero turn has been a game-changer for me.

Exactly! I've seen way too many issues with first-run Milwaukee equipment. It's safer to wait for the bugs to be worked out before diving in.

You know, Milwaukee does have a sort of 'Apple' vibe with their pricing. A lot of people will pay a premium just for the name. If you want reliable OPE, I'd recommend checking out Stihl or Ego—they've never disappointed me and often are better value.

It's tough being brand loyal, especially with OPE. I personally have multiple battery platforms because no brand excels at everything. Just make sure you have enough batteries on hand; I have around 40! But really, consider what's best for your job—don't feel pressured to go red just because it's Milwaukee.
